Positano Elopement

A Romantic Sunset Boat Positano Elopement | Emmy & Nate

Private yacht Positano elopement ceremony

There are some elopement days that feel less like work and more like being invited into one of the most meaningful chapters of someone’s life. Emmy and Nate’s Positano elopement was exactly that.

Their day was the perfect reminder that an elopement doesn’t have to be rushed or packed with a long list of locations to be unforgettable. Instead, it can be intentional, romantic, and centered entirely around the two of you.

Set against the colorful cliffs of Positano and the sparkling waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, their day unfolded as one beautiful experience after another.

If you’re dreaming of a Positano elopement and wondering what your day could actually look like, this is a perfect example.

Starting the Day with a First Look Overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea

The morning began at their beautiful accommodation overlooking Positano.

As the town slowly woke up below them, Emmy and Nate got ready separately before sharing a private first look on their terrace. With panoramic views of the Tyrrhenian Sea stretching endlessly into the distance, it felt like the perfect way to start their wedding day.

There was no audience. No timeline pressure. Just the two of them taking in the significance of the moment together.

One of my favorite things about elopements is creating space for these quiet moments that often get lost during traditional weddings.

Wandering the Streets of Positano

After their first look, we spent the morning exploring the iconic streets of Positano.

One of the best parts about planning a Positano elopement is that the town itself becomes part of the experience. Every winding staircase, flower-covered alleyway, and coastal viewpoint feels like something straight out of a movie.

We wandered through the colorful streets, soaking in the views overlooking the town and stopping for lemon sorbet along the way.

If you’ve ever been to the Amalfi Coast, you know that lemons are everywhere, and enjoying a refreshing lemon sorbet while exploring Positano felt like the perfect Italian experience.

These are the moments I always encourage couples to build into their timeline—the moments that allow them to truly experience the destination rather than simply taking photos there.

An Intimate Boat Ceremony on the Amalfi Coast

As the day unfolded, we made our way down Positano’s narrow staircases toward the beach.

Waiting for us was a boat that would take Emmy and Nate out to their private yacht for the most meaningful part of the day.

Surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea, with the colorful town of Positano rising behind them, they exchanged heartfelt vows and rings aboard their yacht.

It was intimate, emotional, and completely private.

No crowds.

No distractions.

Just the sound of the water, the warmth of the Italian sun, and two people promising forever to one another.

After exchanging vows, they celebrated with a champagne pop and toast while cruising along the Amalfi Coast.

This is one of my favorite ways to experience a Positano elopement because it creates a level of privacy that’s nearly impossible to find within the town itself.

Sailing to Fiordo di Furore at Sunset

Following their ceremony, we continued sailing along the coastline toward Fiordo di Furore.

Often called one of the most beautiful hidden gems on the Amalfi Coast, Fiordo di Furore is a dramatic fjord-like inlet surrounded by towering cliffs and turquoise water.

As golden hour settled across the coastline, the entire landscape seemed to glow.

The warm sunset light reflecting off the cliffs created some of the most magical scenery of the entire day.

Moments like these are why I love helping couples plan experience-focused elopements. Instead of spending the entire day posing for photos, Emmy and Nate were able to fully immerse themselves in one of the most beautiful places in the world while celebrating their marriage.

Celebrating at Chez Black

After returning to Positano, the celebration continued at one of the town’s most iconic waterfront restaurants.

We stopped at Chez Black, where Emmy and Nate ordered an Aperol Spritz and an Old Fashioned to celebrate.

One of my favorite memories from the day was when they surprised me by ordering an Aperol Spritz for me too.

It was such a thoughtful gesture and such a perfect reflection of who they are as people—kind, genuine, and incredibly appreciative.

Those little moments often become the memories I carry with me long after the photos are delivered.

Ending the Night with Lantern Photos in Positano

As the sun disappeared behind the cliffs and Positano began to twinkle with evening lights, we wrapped up the day with one final adventure.

Lantern photos overlooking the glowing town.

There is something undeniably magical about Positano after dark. The colorful buildings begin to sparkle, the restaurants come alive, and the entire coastline transforms into a sea of lights.

It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable day.

Watching Emmy and Nate soak in those final moments together, surrounded by the glow of Positano, felt like the perfect reflection of what an elopement should be: intentional, meaningful, and completely centered around your relationship.

From our first call, I could feel Sheryl’s excitement and passion for what she did. As a type A girly, I loved how organized and detailed Sheryl was. From her intake form to our Zoom calls to texts and emails back-and-forth, I knew Sheryl would carry out our day exactly how we envisioned it. And she did just that! We are over the moon at how our photos turned out. Sheryl was our biggest hype man, kept us (mainly me) calm and collected when things didn’t pan out the way we expected, and weathered every storm with grace.  She captured our day perfectly.

From planning out our adventures, and even scouting the day before at each location, she helped with everything. She was always in constant communication from the first day we reached out to her, till the day that our gallery was sent to us. Our photos truly captured the pure bliss and love that we felt in each moment, and we will cherish them forever. We were so comfortable with traveling with Sheryl throughout our multi-day elopement, and had so much fun as well! We truly don't know what magic Sheryl has in her, as well as those cameras of hers, but every picture was so magically beautiful, and we love her so much (I mean, she even slept in an igloo for us, how could we not?!).
