Tracy & Carlos’ Dreamy Multi-Day Elopement in Switzerland
Day 1: The Glacier Express Experience
Our Switzerland elopement adventure began with a flight into Zurich, followed by a breathtaking train journey to St. Moritz. After a restful night to recover from the long flight, we were ready to embark on the legendary Glacier Express to Zermatt. If you’re planning an elopement in Switzerland, the Glacier Express is a must-do. Be sure to book your tickets and reservations well in advance, as this epic journey is incredibly popular. For the best views on the route from St. Moritz to Zermatt, grab a window seat on the left side of the train. The 8-hour ride offers a visual feast of Switzerland’s most stunning landscapes, paired with delicious food and drinks—a perfect start to your Switzerland Elopement.
Day 2: Zermatt
Arriving in Zermatt felt like stepping into a dream. This charming town, nestled at the base of the iconic Matterhorn, is the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable elopement in Switzerland. Zermatt is surrounded by breathtaking mountain views, and the atmosphere is incredibly romantic. We were initially concerned about the weather, but the skies cleared just in time for the ceremony, revealing the Matterhorn in all its glory. The day was sunny and warm, creating the ideal conditions for a magical elopement in the Swiss Alps.
Day 3: The Igloo Adventure Session
The day after the elopement, we embarked on an Igloo Adventure Session, adding a unique touch to their Switzerland elopement experience. We took a scenic train ride up to the peak of the mountain, where our guide led us to the igloos. This unforgettable experience offered stunning views of the Matterhorn, complemented by warm cups of gluhwein (mulled wine). The igloos, with their intricately designed interiors, fur-lined beds, and cozy sleeping bags, provided a perfect setting for an adventurous post-elopement celebration. The evening ended with a thrilling snowshoe hike to a mountain peak, where we toasted with shots of schnapps under the stars. If you’re eloping in Zermatt, a stay at Iglu-Dorf is a must for an unforgettable adventure.
Day 4: Cultural Fusion and a Stunning Turquoise Lake in Interlaken
For the second half of their Switzerland elopement, Tracy and Carlos chose a stunning location in Interlaken by the turquoise waters of Lake Brienz. Tracy wore a traditional Vietnamese wedding dress, while Carlos donned a traditional Filipino barong, symbolizing the blending of their cultures against the picturesque backdrop of Switzerland. They walked hand-in-hand through a charming European street, leading to the breathtaking lake. The ceremony was a beautiful fusion of cultures and traditions, and the stunning turquoise waters of Lake Brienz made it even more memorable. They exchanged vows and shared their first dance by the lake, making their dream of a Switzerland elopement come true.
